PURPOSE: Drama therapists who have disabilities often have additional costs involved in traveling to a conference and in handling expenses required for necessary accommodations in order to participate. Often these costs make attending a conference prohibitive. Beginning in 2008, the Drama Therapy Fund will annually offer a scholarship specifically to assist a drama therapist or drama therapy student who has a disability and who has additional financial needs for accommodations related to travel, housing, or personal assistance so s/he can attend the annual National Association for Drama Therapy National Conference. See the NADT Website www.nadt.org for dates and information on the latest upcoming conference. ELIGIBILITY: Any member of the National Association for Drama Therapy or any credentialed drama therapist from an international drama therapy organization who has a disability and needs accommodations which add an extra financial burden to the costs of attending a conference. AMOUNT OF GRANT: $500 - $1,000 DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: August 1st - (When the National Conference is in November) NOTIFICATION: Applicants will be notified of their acceptance or rejection by September 1st or before the deadline for early conference registration discounts have passed. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: 1. Evidence of need for accommodations related to travel, housing, or personal assistance while at the conference which creates a financial burden with an estimate of costs involved to make the accommodation(s). 2.
