Conference Scholarship for Drama Therapists with Disabilities

PURPOSE: Drama therapists who have disabilities often have additional costs involved in traveling to a conference and in handling expenses required for necessary accommodations in order to participate. Often these costs make attending a conference prohibitive. Beginning in 2008, the Drama Therapy Fund will annually offer a scholarship specifically to assist a drama therapist or drama therapy student who has a disability and who has additional financial needs for accommodations related to travel, housing, or personal assistance so s/he can attend the annual North American Drama Therapy Association National Conference.

See the NADTA Website www.nadta.org for dates and information on the latest upcoming conference.

ELIGIBILITY: Any member of the North American Drama Therapy Association or any credentialed drama therapist from an international drama therapy organization who has a disability and needs accommodations which add an extra financial burden to the costs of attending a conference.

AMOUNT OF GRANT: $500 – $1,000

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: August 1st
(When the National Conference is in November — move date backward one month for each month the conference is scheduled earlier.)
