Empirical Research Grant for Graduate Students

PURPOSE: The purpose of this grant is to encourage drama therapists in graduate school to start to do empirical research (either quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods).

ITEMS THAT COULD BE FUNDED:
Art supplies
Copying
Postage
Payment for measurement instruments
Statistics help or access to SPSS
Transcription
Transportation
Video and audio recording equipment, supplies, etc.
Other materials or services needed for the research.

ITEMS THAT CAN NOT BE FUNDED:
Food
Gifts
Salaries

ELIGIBILITY: The applicant must be enrolled in an approved Drama Therapy program or have a current Alternative Training contract on file with NADTA.

AMOUNT OF AWARD: up to $500 for each six-month application cycle

DEADLINES FOR APPLICATION: January 15th and July 15th of every year.

APPLICATION PROCESS:
The following information should be submitted:

1. Contact information including: Name, Address, Phone Numbers, Email.

2. Proof of IRB approval from your university or appropriate source.

3. A detailed Research Proposal, with research question, methods, source of participants, etc.

4. A Budget indicating the amount needed and what the money will be spent on.

5. A Letter of Support from your major professor (thesis, dissertation or project chair) or if in Alternative Training, your Board-Certified Trainer.

REQUIRED REPORT: Within 30 days of completion of defending the project/presentation, the recipient of the grant must send a written account and evaluation of the project along with copies of the receipts of purchases and transportation and/or record of mileage via electronic mail to: dtfund@dramatherapyfund.org.
