Continuing Education/Professional Development Grant

PURPOSE: The purpose of this grant is to help professional drama therapists deepen and broaden their skills and knowledge by helping to fund needed drama therapy supplies, continuing education courses/trainings, and books that they can not get funding for through their place of employment.

ITEMS THAT COULD BE FUNDED:
1. Tuition/registration for a training, course, conference (other than NADTA), or workshop that would improve one’s skills related to drama therapy work.
2. Drama Therapy supplies (for example, mask-making materials, scarves, costumes, etc.)
3. Books that would provide continuing education to enhance drama therapy skills.

ELIGIBILITY: The applicant must be an RDT.

AMOUNT OF AWARD: up to $500 each six-month application cycle.
The money may not go to salary, but must be spent on supplies, books, tuition/registration, transportation, and other costs related to the continuing education project (see above).

DEADLINES FOR APPLICATION: January 15th and July 15th of each year

APPLICATION PROCESS:
The following information should be submitted:

1. Contact information including Name, Address, Phone Numbers, Email.

2. Letter of intent explaining how funding will aid the drama therapist in deepening/broadening their drama therapy skills.

3. A detailed Budget indicating the amount needed and what the money will be spent on.

REQUIRED REPORT: Within 30 days of completion of the continuing education event/project, the recipient of the grant must send a written account and evaluation of the project along with copies of the receipts of purchases and transportation and/or record of mileage via electronic mail to: dtfund@dramatherapyfund.org.
